Born on December 12, 1951, in Sialkot, Pakistan, Senator A. Rehman Malik pursued a Master’s degree in Statistics from the University of Karachi. His educational background provided him with a strong analytical foundation, which he applied throughout his career in public service and politics. In recognition of his contributions, the University of Karachi awarded him an honorary PhD degree.
Career in National Security
Senator A. Rehman Malik began his illustrious career in the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) of Pakistan, where he ascended to the position of Additional Director General. His tenure at the FIA was characterized by significant efforts to combat terrorism, organized crimes, white-collar crimes, and smuggling, thereby strengthening Pakistan’s internal security.
