The Institute of Research & Reforms International, and the Rehman Malik Foundation, in collaboration with SADAA hosted a panel discussion at Soho House / Electric Cinema regarding the women and girls of Afghanistan three years after the Taliban’s takeover.
Speakers at the event included: Baroness Hussein-Ece, member of the House of Lords; Sarah Sands, member of the G7 Gender Equality Advisory Council, and former editor of Today on BBC Radio 4; Ali Rehman Malik, Chairman of Institute of Research & Reforms International and the Rehman Malik Foundation; Mandy Sanghera, award-winning philanthropist & human rights activist; Shabnam Nasimi, executive director of SADAA & Afghan women’s rights advocate; Elham Ehsas, BAFTA nominated & Oscar shortlisted writer/director; Anil Qasemi, UK Afghan Resettlement Universal Sponsorship Pathway; and, Tim Walker, award-winning journalist, playwright and broadcaster.
Prior to this, the Institute of Research & Reforms, and the Rehman Malik Foundation, in collaboration with the Ciro & Armand Charity Foundation Help Children Now evacuated and resettled a group of Afghan women athletes and their families, as well as officials that worked with NATO troops.
